MONDAY, MARCH 31, 2008

Hey all, sorry for the delay in updates, we have been quite busy to say the least. First off - a HUGE thanks to everyone that stopped by to visit us at Flatstock during SXSW. It was a pleasure to meet so many new people and hang with old friends.

On to some news... We posted a few new posters. The response has been great and we are selling out of new releases fairly quickly. In the future we will hold on to some extras for the site. Darren will have 2 Explosions in the Sky posters available at the New York and Providence stops on the tour. Some should be available here if you can't get one at the show. Be on the lookout for a new one for Atmosphere as well as Death Cab for Cutie in the next few weeks... as well as a few other surprises.

The site will be getting a little face lift fairly soon as well. Should be cool.

SOME BIG NEWS...
The Pre-Sale for our next Smash & Grab Records 7" Release for the MIGHTY MIGHTY BOSSTONES will be FRIDAY, APRIL 4TH. All I can say is jump on it fast, cause those bad boys will go quick. Limited to only 500 copies, half white vinyl, half blue vinyl. Complete screenprinted package. Ohhhh it's gonna be sweet!

More to come soon.

Happy Holidays etc... etc... Just a quick update to close the year out here at Ghost-Town. Thanks to everyone who ordered stuff last month and took advantage of the "Special Offer". It was a good experiment and we will continue with new ones every few months. We will also be adding some T-Shirts and other stuff within the next few months as well.

Just added a poster for Ted Leo (who is a great guy and amazing performer by the way). Most of them sold at the show but we have a small handful left for the site.

I did the layout and design for the new Mighty Mighty Bosstones record "Medium Rare" coming out Dec 18. I've actually been doing quite a lot of work for those boys as of late. A poster for one of the Throw Down nights as well as one for the New Years Eve Spectacular.

Lots of good stuff happening in the New Year for Smash and Grab Records. All I can say is we're super excited about the upcoming releases.

Sooooo, that's all for 2007, thanks for everyone's support and cool e-mails over the past year.

Peace!!

Hello All, It's been awhile since the last update, so we will try to catch up here. Lots of new posters up for sale (Black Crowes, Hold Steady, Modest Mouse, High on Fire...) as well as some new fine art prints from myself and Darren. Also, go check out Smash & Grab Records RIGHT NOW!!!   It's up - and vinyl records are for sale. We're excited for this new extension of the Ghost-Town Universe. Big thanks to the Black Clouds, The Explosion, Art Chantry, John Hunter, B Menard, and D Johnson for helping make these first two releases a reality. More info about the project is on the site.

Some upcoming projects and events that we're involved in...
I have two fine art pieces in the show "REWIND" - a five year anniversary retrospective of art from The Paradise Lounge in Boston, MA. Opening Reception is November 1st, 6:30 pm - www.thedise.com.

We will be a part of CraftLand this year. "Craftland is an annual holiday sale in Providence, RI that celebrates all kinds of handmade objects and the people who make them". Along with some posters we will debut new button sets, t-shirts and fine art prints - perfect for the Holiday Season!

I also designed a banner for the Street Dogs current tour. It's huge! They're still on tour with Tiger Army, so check out a show and peep the banner.

Did the art for "Thus Far" - a skate film done by Nate Dean, keep an eye out at skate shops.

I am curating the poster set for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones reunion shows. I have recruited the following design studios to take part: Methane Studios, Asthetic Apparatus, Engine House 13, Adam Swinborne, and yours truly. This set will be AMAZING.

I'm also working on some other top secret projects with the Bosstones. I'll keep you updated when the time is right to spill the beans.

We here at Ghost-Town love the fall in New England. Halloween rules, plus THE SOX JUST WON THE WORLD SERIES!!! and The Patriots are killing it every week!!!

Stay Tuned...
Pete

OK, so lots going on for the month of May in little ol' Ghost-Town. First off, a new poster design for the band Spoon. It's for a very special show the band played at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, now on sale. I also have some artist prints for TV on the Radio available. The regular edition is sold out, so get an AP while they last - there is only a small handful left.

We also got asked to do a tour poster for the band MUSE. It will debut at the May 8th show at the DCU Center in Worcester with My Chemical Romance on sale at their shows. I will put some here on the website later. Speaking of limited edition, here are two cool projects back to back:

We were asked by the lovely city of Providence to do a limited edition art poster for the grand reopening of the Historic Armory Building. There is going to be an opening night party and gallery show May 11th, in the evening. You can get the poster there and also see some great artwork from local artists and get a look at this amazing building first hand. It's the first time in over ten years that it has been open to the public.

Then, the next day we rush over to Newbury Street in Boston for the 1 year anniversary of the Johnny Cupcakes shop (Saturday, May 12th @ 3:00pm). We created a limited edition screenprint poster for the event and the first 100 people get one for FREE. They will also debut the new line of tees and have all sorts of other cool stuff.

I PROMISE the Explosion 7" will be coming soon, there was a screw-up at the pressing plant that has delayed the release a bit, but it WILL be ready soon. On the topic of music, my pals Far From Finished will be releasing their record "Living in the Fallout" July 17th on Think Fast Records. I did the layout and design for that, so check it out if you like your punk "Street" - they're an amazing band.

Finally, there is a very exciting group show happening at the Dead Cat Gallery. Here's the deal, Opening night is Friday, May 25th - $10 gets you in with an all-you-can-drink badge. Starts at 8pm, but get there early cause it WILL fill up to capacity very fast. Here is the killer lineup: John Hunter, Peter Cardoso, Darren Johnson, Unkle Pete, Mike Hamel, John Chaos, Mark Pedini and more... PLUS performances by Brimstone Assembly, Sasquatch & the Sickabillys, Rt.44, and Fury 3. That is going to be an amazing night. That's all for now.

Happy New Year! We're kicking the New Year off right by making ordering a whole lot easier for you. We've just added PayPal links to the posters so you can buy them directly through the website now.

As for new art, we've added the last couple of posters from '06 and two of our '07 bad boys, as well as artwork for the latest Street Dogs record and our first 7" from the Black Clouds, released on Smash & Grab Records... which brings us to our second release. We will be putting out a limited edition 7" for The Explosion with artwork by legendary graphic designer Art Chantry! We're stoked, to say the least, to be working with both parties - we are huge fans. We hope to have it out by March in time for The Explosion US tour with Anti Flag. We'll keep you updated as the process moves into the final stages.

In March, Darren and I will be attending SXSW in Austin, Texas. We will have a booth at the Flatstock Poster/Design Convention, so if your attending, stop by and say hello. This will also be the debut of the official GigPosters.com playing card set Version 3. I have been chosen to design the "Five of Hearts."

I can promise you it will be an amazing set with art by some of the best designers working today, 54 different ones!!! It will be available in March at Flatstock as well as online at GigPosters.com. I'll also try to offer some sets here on the site when the time comes. That's all for now. Keep it real.

Hey all, just a few quick updates on the studio and some other fun stuff. First up - our new posters are going pretty quick, so thanks to everyone who has ordered artwork through the website or at the shows. Speaking of which, we will be at the Providence shows for the New York Dolls on November 21st and My Chemical Romance on November 29th. Come by, say hello, and pick up a poster, these bad boys will go fast too.

Also just released - the new 2007 Wilco Calendars, which showcase some of our work. These are limited and sold only on the band's website, so check 'em out now at www.wilcoworld.net. Please check out the brand new Kid Robot toys from our pal Jesse at www.ledouxville.com - great presents for the holidays. They will keep you entertained for hours, especially if you're stoned on egg nog. Also, our good pal Mark has some sick new work up and always has some sort of sale going on. Check his stuff out at www.misterreusch.com - perfect if you prefer Frankenstein to Santa.

If you have not picked up the new Street Dogs record yet, then what the hell are you waiting for? The limited edition Digi-pack is only out for - you guessed it - a limited time. Then it's back to the stupid ol' jewel case. I hate those things. We have HUGE plans for some of the 7" releases coming out on Smash and Grab in the near future. I mean HUGE, really, no lie.

In poster news: sorry guys - Darren's poster for Broken Social Scene is sold out, but there are some more new posters coming soon for New York Dolls, My Chemical Romance, Ray Lomantagne and Death Cab For Cutie to name a few.
Soooooo, have lovely Thanksgiving Holiday and we'll be back soon. Over n' Out.

Pete,
Ghost-Town

Happy October! Some quick updates on Ghost-Town. The lovely people at Vice Magazine have included a quick review of the first Smash and Grab release by the mighty Black Clouds. They're selling fast, so if you still don't have your copy get it from us now. Limited edition screenprint packages for the 7-inch are available with your choice of Black or Blue vinyl.

Also, pick up the new release from my good friends the Street Dogs. I did the cover art and the entire design for the digipack release which comes with a DVD. The record is entitled "Fading American Dream" and is released October 24th everywhere. I'm truly proud to know this band as I believe they are one of the only one's singing and performing today with a true message while still having fun, not unlike the Clash back in the day. Years from now, I believe this band will be recognized as one of the most important voices in American Punk Rock Music.

As far as posters go, there are a few new one's up on the site. The Strokes edition completely sold out on the night of it's release, but I will make available a few of the artist prints. Of course, these are very limited, so first come first serve. Thanks to WBRU for all the help. There are a small handful of the Rancid prints still available as well. There will also be quite a bunch of new posters coming soon but we can't spill the beans yet. We will update you as soon as they become available.

Also just completed the record for the upcoming Street Dogs release and working on one for Far From Finished, both coming out in the fall.

I'll be representin' at SXSW with the rest of us crazy designers at FlatStock, held at the Austin Convention Center, March 16-18. Check out the site at www.flatstock.com for more info. New posters out now for Low and Belle & Sebastian, drop a line if you want one. Within a week we will have a new one for our good friend Ted Leo and there will be a poster for the Books, Death Vessel, Black Clouds and the Explosion coming soon. An NLX show poster coming out soon as well. Check out the new release at www.natashaalexandra.com. It's a fantastic record.

BIG NEWS! We have expanded into a record label, well sort of... we will on occasion release 7" records by bands we enjoy with all sorts of musical tastes. All will be VERY limited with yours truly handling art duties, so expect awesome screenprinted packages and the such. Future releases will have guest artists doing some amazing cover art as well. The plan is to do a few a year hopefully, you most likely will only be able to get these bad boys thru the touring band, their website, our website or a handful of local record stores. We're proud to announce our first release will be from Providence, Rhode Island's garage band greats "The Black Clouds." You bet your ass this is gonna rock the fuck out!
